It's official! Rachel is now a PC QUILTER In Home Representative. Make sure that you check out her blog for more information about the PC Quilter and how you too can achieve perfect quilting with your home sewing machine and frame. Remember, Sew Little Time is a Grace Frame, HQ 16 and Janome Sewing Machine Dealer. The PC Quilter works perfect with the Grace Frames, the HQ 16, and the Janome 1600p. You can set up a private demo with Rachel to see the PC Quilter in action! And make sure that you check out the custom quilts in the store that feature the PC Quilter quilting. www.rachel-sewbehind.blogspot.com
Sew Little Time will be closed on Friday, July 4th . New Summer Hours! With gasoline and utility prices skyrocketing and everyone busy with summer activities, it just makes sense to cut back where we can. Beginning June 1st, Sew Little Time will be closed on Wednesdays. We are also scaling back our hours on Saturday, when we will be closing at 3:00 pm. We will try these hours for the summer and re-evaluate in September. Some class times may be adjusted to reflect the new store hours. Please call if you have any questions.

Floor Model Silent Auctions (not to be confused with the Timopoly money auction in August) We are going to try something different this summer in order to change out our floor model Janome machines. We’re going to let YOU decide what they are worth! We’ll set a minimum price and accept silent bids in the store for a two-week period. Bid as often as you like! The person holding the highest bid when the auction closes will be able to purchase the machine for the price of their bid!
Tues. July 1 – Tues. July 15 The first item up for bid is a Janome 350E Embroidery (only) Machine. The MSRP on the Janome 350E is $1649 (the price increased May 1st). The starting bid will be $820.
Thurs. July 17 – Thurs. July 31 Little Gracie II Quilting Frame & Janome 1600P Sewing Machine. The MSRP for the package is $2198. The starting bid will be $1200.
Fri. August 1 – Fri. August 15 6260 QC Quilting & Sewing Machine. The MSRP on this machine is $1099. The starting bid will be $500.
Sat. August 16 – Sat. August 30 MC6600 Quilting & Sewing Machine. This includes the extension table and complete accessory kit. The MSRP on this machine is $1999. The starting bid will be $870.
All of these items are sold as is. Stop in to the shop if you would like to see what accessories go with them. On the closing day, we will lock the door at closing time. Make sure you check our hours to see what time we close that day! Everyone in the shop at that time who would still like to bid will draw a number, with the lowest number going first. Each person will then have one last opportunity to bid, with the last bid being the winner. Bids must be in $10 increments. The winner will have until closing time on our third business day to pay for the item, or we will go to the next highest bid, and so on. Bids must be made in person, but we would be happy to tell you what the current bid amount is over the phone, or check our website for the current bid (updated daily). Coupons and trade-ins do not apply to auction items.
Breast Cancer Quilt Raffle SLT quilt instructor Joanne Hubbard and her daughter Lynn Hoag are walking 60 miles in The Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk this coming August 22, 23, & 24 in Cleveland. For this walk, they must each raise $2,200 with all of the proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen For The Cure fund. To help raise their donation, they have made a beautiful 81” x 99” pinwheel quilt that they will be raffling off. The drawing will be held on Saturday, October 18th in honor of breast cancer awareness month. Tickets for the quilt raffle are $1 each or 6/$5 and can be purchased at Sew Little Time. Hopefully we will have the quilt displayed at the quilt shop sometime during the summer.
New Thimbleberries Christmas Retreat! BIG NEWS! Right down the street is a brand new retreat center called A Crop for All Seasons. They started out with retreats for scrapbookers, but were quickly informed that quilters love overnight retreats too! Imagine a weekend dedicated to you and the activity you enjoy most – quilting! We know how hard it is to find time to work on your projects, therefore we promise to award you with a relaxing and rewarding weekend – you deserve it! The spacious sewing room provides each guest with their own work space, comfortable chair, individual Ott lighting, drink holder, and even a foot rest! The facilities are awesome and they promise to pamper us with treats and home-cooked meals. We have reserved the facility for Saturday, September 20th and Sunday, September 21st. Check in will be 8:00 a.m. on Saturday and check out will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. We will be making three projects from Lynette Jenson’s new Christmas Punch collection and book. Fabric for these three projects will be included: a 62 x 80 quilt, a table runner, and a Christmas card/Message holder. Kits for additional projects from the book will be available for sale as well. The cost will be $345 per person. A $100 deposit will secure your spot. Space is limited to 12 people! Check your calendar and make your reservation today!
New E-Mail Address Well, we have had our share of ‘technical difficulties’ these past couple of months. We have good news though! We now have a new furnace, which will hopefully help us to regulate the temperature in the store and keep our heating bill down! Secondly, we have a new e-mail address: sew_little_time@yahoo.com. (note there are underscores between the words). Way back in October, we decided to save a few dollars and switch our internet service. The old was disconnected and the new was installed, but it didn’t work! After many weeks of trying to figure it out, the new company admitted that they could not offer us internet service at our location. So then we contacted a third company who, after several more weeks of playing phone tag, was finally able to deliver J You don’t realize how much you depend on e-mail and the internet until you don’t have it! Sew Little Timopoly $$$$$$ We will begin to pass out play money on June 1st. The auction is tentatively scheduled for Friday, August 22nd. You will earn $1 in play money for every $10 you spend, before tax. The play money can then be used to bid on items at our auction. If you don’t have enough play money to purchase something you have your eye on, you can purchase more play money at $.25 per play dollar. New this year – Double Dollar Day every Tuesday through the summer! Earn double the dollars when you shop at Sew Little Time on Tuesdays! There will be lots of odds and ends to bid on, plus some store samples and probably a small sewing machine! Watch for more details in future newsletters and on the website. We had a ton of fun last year, so start saving those play dollars now! Indiana & Ohio Quilter’s Pocket Map We are very excited to announce that we now have copies of the Indiana & Ohio Quilters Pocket Map available for sale. We saw a prototype of the Florida map last fall and knew right away that we had to be part of the Ohio map! The illustrations are absolutely adorable and will lead the way to some of the best quilt shops in the Midwest. On the back of the map there is also a block pattern by Sue Bouchard and Quilt in a Day. These would make great inexpensive gifts for all of your quilting friends! Stop in and pick up your copy today! Financing Available In case you didn’t know, Sew Little Time offers financing on sewing and embroidery machines and quilt frames. We have a partnership with American General financing here in Norwalk. It takes just a few minutes to fill out an application in the shop. The application is faxed in and we’ll have an answer back in usually less than ten minutes! You can choose between 90-days or 6-months same as cash. If you are anticipating a tax return, order your machine or frame today and pay it off when you receive your check! Blade Sharpening Judy Brenzo is now offering rotary cutter blade sharpening. She will be picking up and dropping off blades at Sew Little Time every Thursday. She charges $2.50 per blade. That is quite a savings over the cost of replacing your blades when they get dull! Blades must be in a container, such as the plastic case that most are sold in, and labeled with the owner’s name and phone number. The first pick up day will be Thursday, June 5th. Quilting & Binding Service The cost of our quilting service is $.015 per square inch of the pre-quilted top size plus a $25 setup fee. This is for edge to edge quilting only. Custom quilting is available upon request at an additional cost. We do require that you use our Quilter’s Dream batting and our thread, as they have yielded the best results on our frame. Binding service is also available.
If you have a quilt top that you just haven’t gotten around to quilting, or want to get a jump start on Christmas, then don’t miss our summer ‘The Bigger the Better’ Quilting Sale! As you can see below, the bigger the quilt, the better the savings! Take advantage of these flat rates by bringing your quilt in during June, July, or August. This price is good only on ‘edge to edge’ quilting in your choice of two basic patterns. They will be done in the order they are received, so wait times will vary. If you require rush service, it will be regular price plus $25.
