Holiday Hours
Sew Little Time will be closed on Monday, July 5th in observance of Independence Day. You are welcome to come sit on our sidewalk for the big parade though! We will resume regular hours on Tuesday.
Horizon MC 7700 QCP Test Drive
We’ve had many phone calls regarding this exciting new machine just out from Janome! This extraordinary new machine offers an 11” x 4.7” work area with free arm capability, the AcuFeed Fabric Feeding System, Automatic Plate Converter, Superior Plus Feed System, 250 decorative and utility stitches, twenty memory banks, and much, much more!
We will have this state-of-the-art machine here at Sew Little Time, along with a guest instructor, on Saturday, July 17th. Call now to schedule an appointment to test drive this amazing machine while you make a small project to take home! Time slots are available from 11 am – 4 pm. and will take about a half hour. A limited number of machines will be available for purchase and take home that day. Additional machines may be ordered any time.

We’ve just learned that Janome will be raising the prices on some of their models! The price increase will take effect on Thursday, July 1st. Quilters Road Show Shop Hop
We are gearing up and getting ready for our 4th annual fall shop hop which will take place Thursday, October 14th thru Saturday, October 16th. Shop hours will be extended to allow you plenty of time to visit all of the shops and shop at your leisure: Thursday & Friday 9 am – 8 pm, Saturday 9 am – 6 pm. The shops participating are Black Swamp Quilt Shoppe (Millbury), Corner Quilts & Gifts (Wauseon), Sew Little Time (Norwalk), Sonflower Quilts & Gifts (Sylvania), The Door Mouse (Bettsville), Quilts & Kreations (S. Amherst), and Threads of Tradition (Archbold).
A free complete original pattern will be distributed at each shop during the event. That’s 7 free patterns! Participants who visit all of the shops will be eligible to win one of the many door prizes. Passports will be $10 and will come with a handy notions caddy if purchased before October 1st. Passports will be available at all of the participating shops on September 1st.
July Penny Quilting & Half-price Binding Special
Many of you have been heard to lament, “I have a whole stack of quilt tops done and just need to get them quilted before I make any more!” Well, here is your chance! For any quilts brought in during the month of July, the rate for edge to edge machine quilting will be .01 per square inch! (Regular rate is .015 - .03) Get your quilts done for 1/3 less! The $25 set-up fee will still apply. Choose from 5 specially selected patterns.
If it’s the binding part that is holding you up, you’ll jump at the chance to have your finished quilt bound for half the regular price! You bring us your yardage, and we’ll make and sew on the binding for .15 per inch. (Regular price is .30 per inch.) For example, a 100 x 100 quilt will cost you just $60 to bind!
Embroidery Club Gets a Makeover!
This club has been meeting on the second Saturday of each month for over four years, and it’s time for a change! In the past, members met for a short demonstration and show and tell. Beginning in April (4/10/10), the club members will be bringing their embroidery machines with them and working on a project together each month. The club meeting will last from approximately 10 – noon. If you would like to receive information on the upcoming project, you must let Rachel know so that she can make sure she has the pattern in your format and so she can send you the supply list. Once she has you on the list, you will automatically be notified of future projects by e-mail, or you can look for the info on our website.
Fat Quarter Fridays Are Back!
Uncle! Uncle! We want you back on Fat Quarter Fridays! Every Friday through Labor Day Weekend, you may purchase up to 20 fat quarters at $1.00 each. That’s right! You weren’t impressed with a buck and a half, so we’ve lowered the price back to $1.00 each. If you just can’t stop at 20, additional fat quarters can be purchased at regular price.
Eat and Sew Nite
As many of you know, the group that started out doing Quilted Village over the past few years has formed a new group which meets on the 4th Monday of each month from 6 – 9 pm. Bring any project that you would like to work on and maybe a few bucks – we always order dinner! Everyone is welcome!
Hush Little Baby
Hush Little Baby, which features gently used clothing, toys, furniture, and accessories for babies and toddlers and maternity clothes, occupies the other half of our building at 32 E. Main St. Summer things are on the racks! Having company for a weekend? She also rents baby equipment like cribs and highchairs. Make your reservation now! The store hours are Tuesday – Friday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. It is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Anyone interested in selling their items or doing consignment should call Tassie directly at 419-217-0209.
‘Make It You’
The Make It You program is being suspended at this time. We will re-evaluate the program over the summer and decide whether to start it up again in the fall. This is a program designed to help the younger generation to discover the fun, creativity, and endless potential of sewing and quilting. It’s open to young people ages 8 – 18, boys and girls. Our younger participants may require a parent’s or grandparent’s assistance for the first few times. There is a $20 one-time fee to join. If you have a youngster who is interested, please call the shop and leave your name and number. We will let you know when the program starts up again.
Custom Made T-shirt Quilts
T-shirt quilts use your old t-shirt fronts and backs to form the blocks and make a wonderful keepsake for a graduation, birthday, anniversary or wedding gift! Bring us your t-shirts, pick out a fabric color, and we’ll do the rest! Cost includes piecing, quilting and binding! Four sizes to choose from. Call for details!
