July 4th Schedule Change
In last month’s newsletter, it was stated that we would be closed on Monday, July 6th. Vaughn says she wants to work on Monday, so we’ll be open! The only day we will be closed will be Saturday, July 4th. So come in on Monday and take advantage of our Janome Independence Sale!
Fat Quarter Fridays
“Fat Quarter Fridays” are back for the summer! Now through Labor Day, all precut fat quarters will be $1 – that’s right, one dollar! On all other days, they will be the regular $2.25. There is a limit of 20 fat quarters per person per Friday (at $1 – you can buy as many as you want at the regular price).
Eleanor Burns Trunk Show – Extended!
We have a selection of beautiful quilts by Eleanor Burns from her “Victory Quilts” and “Egg Money Quilts” books on display here at the shop. We were notified by Quilt In A Day last week that we were welcome to keep these beautiful quilts through July 11th. We were tickled pink! Stop in to see the quilts and pick up one of her books, which will be 10% off for the duration of the trunk show!
Knitting & Crochet Classes
Over the past couple of years, we have had occasional requests for classes on learning to knit or crochet. Karen Hedrick has volunteered to take on teaching some basic knitting and crochet classes here at the shop. If you are interested in signing up, please call and put your name on the list. We are still working out the details and want to get an idea of how many people are interested.
Quilting & Binding Service
The cost of our quilting service is $.015 per square inch of the pre-quilted top size plus a $25 setup fee. This is for edge to edge quilting only. Custom quilting is available upon request at an additional cost. We do require that you use our Quilter’s Dream batting and our thread, as they have yielded the best results on our frame. Binding service is also available.
Embroidery Club
The Embroidery Club is for anyone who currently owns or would like to own an embroidery machine, regardless of make or model. The group meets the second Saturday of each month at 10:00 a.m. for an hour or so for coffee and goodies, demonstrations of products and techniques, special deals, show and tell, and open discussion. There’s a $20 fee to join the club, but no charge for attending meetings. Anyone who purchases an embroidery machine at Sew Little Time is automatically a member of the club with no membership fee. Leave your machine at home and join us for a time of sharing and learning!
Hush Little Baby
Hush Little Baby, which features gently used clothing, toys, furniture, and accessories for babies and toddlers and maternity clothes, occupies the other half of our building at 32 E. Main St. New items are being added daily! She has tons of adorable summer things ready to go! It’s also not too early to start shopping for school clothes. Having company for a weekend? She also rents baby equipment like cribs and highchairs. The store hours are Tuesday – Friday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. It is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Anyone interested in selling their items should call Tassie directly at 419-217-0209 for an appointment.
Custom Made T-shirt Quilts
T-shirt quilts use your old t-shirt fronts and backs to form the blocks and make a wonderful keepsake for a graduation, birthday, anniversary or wedding gift! Bring us your t-shirts, pick out a fabric color, and we’ll do the rest! Cost includes piecing, quilting and binding! Four sizes to choose from. Call for details! Come see the sample in the store!
