CLUBS & Block of the Month

Elegant Garden Hand Appliqué

This is Block 1 of the Elegant Garden by Laundry Basket Quilts. In this block, you will learn beginning basics of needle turn appliqué, such as making templates, placing the pattern, and a variety of stitches. You will also learn how to make circles the easy way! There are a total of 24 block patterns in this series. We will be running the class as a continuous block of the month, so jump in any time. The class will meet on the third Tuesday from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. starting in September (9/16). Look for details on a starter kit and pricing in August.

Embroidery Club

The Embroidery Club is for anyone who currently owns or would like to own an embroidery machine, regardless of make or model. The group meets the second Saturday of each month at 10:00 a.m. for an hour or so for coffee and goodies, demonstrations of products and techniques, special deals, show and tell, and open discussion. There’s a $20 fee to join the club, but no charge for attending meetings. Anyone who purchases an embroidery machine at Sew Little Time is automatically a member of the club with no membership fee. Leave your machine at home and join us for a time of sharing and learning!

‘Make It You’ is a program designed to help the younger generation to discover the fun, creativity, and endless potential of sewing and quilting. It’s open to young people ages 8 – 18, boys and girls. Our younger participants may require a parent’s or grandparent’s assistance for the first few times. There is a $20 one-time fee to join. The club meets every other Saturday afternoon from 2-4 pm. Please call for schedule & supply info. Sessions are free.

We will be making some really cool individual projects. New members are welcome! Beginning Feb.  9th  and going through March 8th  – Stuffed Snowmen!  Note: No class on March 22nd due to Spring Break!

Underground Railroad Block of the Month

The Underground Railroad BOM meets the second Thursday of each month from 7-9 pm. It is $20 to join, and the book is around $23. Since the book requires 17 fabrics which are each used in several of the 15 blocks, we are offering a kit for $60 from which you can make all of the blocks. You will need to purchase additional fabric for finishing the quilt, depending on which finishing method you choose. Kare will be the instructor. This is a confident beginner/intermediate class. Sign up ASAP if you are interested! This will be a continuous block of the month, so new members can join anytime! Several people have mentioned having started this quilt on their own or at another shop in the past and not finishing – join the club and get that UFO completed!

 Wild Flower Embroidery Quilt

Many of you will remember seeing some of these beautiful floral designs embroidered on batiks which were on display during our shop hop. We will be starting this machine embroidery block of the month in January and it will meet the 4th Saturday of each month from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. The cost will be $15 per month. The digitized pattern will be available on CD separately. Note: You must have an embroidery machine to participate.

Dear Jane Block of the Month

Actually, participants will be making a selection each month of the more than 160 blocks which comprise this well-known historical quilt. This quilt will use many different techniques, including machine piecing, hand piecing, appliqué, etc. If there is interest, we will make this a continuous block of the month and new members may join at any time. Dear Jane will meet on the second Monday each month from 6 – 8 pm beginning February 11th. A starter kit will be available, with participants adding more fabrics as they go. Book not included.

Thimbleberries Club 2008

Sew Little Time is going to start the 2008 Thimbleberries club in April. We will be working strictly on the quilt for 8 months and have the top completed in November! We have pictures of the quilts and samples of the fabric, so stop in and see for yourself. We will be offering both the Lodge and Lakeside fabrics. We have ordered enough fabric for 20 kits from each. Fabric choice will be first come, first served.

We are currently signing people up!  As in the past, there is a $20 fee to join the club. Payment of the registration fee allows you to reserve your choice of fabric – The Lake or The Lodge. The cost for our club will be $25 per month (8 months) if you pay as you go each month. If you would like to have your credit card number kept on file and have us charge you on the first of each month, you pay only $22.50 per month! For even more savings, pay $160.00 in full at the time of registration and your average cost is only $20 per month, plus we will waive the $20 registration fee!

Club meetings will be only on the first Saturday of each month from 10 – 11 am. At the monthly club meetings, we will offer helpful information on making that month’s block, show you extra projects for which we will have kits available, offer special deals on Thimbleberries products, have door prizes, and in general have a grand time!

Table Runners Club

If you’ve run out of beds and wall space, or have trouble completing a big project, why not join our new Table Runners Club! We’ll be using the “Mostly Table Runners 3” book plus additional patterns on occasion and making a different one each month. Kits will be available if you like our sample that month, or choose your own fabrics for a totally different look. Kits are available on a 1st come basis on the night of the class and any left over will be put out for sale the following day. The club meets on the third Monday of each month from 6-9 pm. This will be an ongoing club with a one-time membership fee of $30. Books and fabric sold separately.

Free Block of the Month Club

Well, the free part is up to you! Pay $5 for your first block (due when you sign up) and the rest are free when you come to the meeting with your completed block from the previous month! We’ll be offering two different color schemes on this fun and easy to make sampler quilt – scarlet & gray and Americana. Finishing kits will be available. The club meeting is on the first Thursday of each month from 7:00 – 8:00 pm. We still have room for a couple more people and it’s still just $5.00 to join. Club meeting #2 is on June 7th, so you can pick up your first block and have it done in time to get #2 free (We promise – it’s easy!) Sign up now!
